Gratitude to God keeps things from being central in our life. Gratitude takes every gift in hand and comes and looks into the Father’s eyes and says a heartfelt “thank you”. One of the dear saints I pastored was nearing the end of her life. Her attending nurse said of Mrs. Slye, “She thanks me for a glass of water as if I had given her a milkshake.” Oh Lord, help me to be that grateful for each and all of your manifold blessings.
“For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.” 1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NASB)
