Jesus had been cruelly murdered. “Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping.” The loss of those we hold dear can be so painful. I have watched parents grieve over the loss of a child. They say there is no pain like a parent losing a child. We weep over the loss of those who are precious to us. Through her tears Mary saw two angels. These angels brought good news. The comforting word for tears of loss is resurrection hope.
“But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb; and she *saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying.” John 20:11-12 (NASB)
