We work hard to accumulate. Paul taught takers to stop being takers and work hard to have something to give (Eph 4:28). The one whom we obey as Lord says that this is the better way. “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive'” (Acts 20:35). We do not give to receive. We receive to give. To give not just what we have, but to give ourselves. That is where the blessing is found.
