Businesses sometime go into a survival mode where saving the business for the long term is more important than profits in the short term. Even plants go into the survival mode in dry weather where they drop fruit rather than die. Sometimes we may go into a survival mode in our life’s journey; we are not swimming but we are keeping our head above water. We are just putting one foot in front of another, literally one minute at a time. Disappointment. Discouragement. Depression. Grief. Heartache. Rejection. Troubles. It is a tough place to be. Endure! Persevere! Patiently hang on! “Hold on my child, Joy comes in the morning!” God still loves you. Someone is counting on you. Never quit.
“Do not, therefore, abandon that confidence of yours; it brings a great reward. For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. For yet “in a very little while, the one who is coming will come and will not delay; but my righteous one will live by faith. My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back.” But we are not among those who shrink back and so are lost, but among those who have faith and so are saved.” Hebrews 10:35-39 (NRSV)
