The consequences of our behaviors seem to take us by surprise and appear to have happened suddenly. My back pain came “suddenly” because of past abuse and neglect. Certainly, we cannot find a cause and effect to all of our problems. But it is also true that choices have consequences. I wish I could say that God rescues us from all of these; He does not. But what He does is to stick close to us as a loving Father to teach us, mature us and bring positive out of the negatives. In His sovereign way, He can bring my bad consequences to good outcomes. He can teach us how to find sweet fruit in a bitter experience.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” Rom 8:28 (NASB).
