Tough times have a way of tugging at our very identity. We have a way of moving from the immediate problem to questions about our own essence. In your struggles, never forget who you are and Whose you are. You belong to the King; you have been redeemed by precious blood. Your past does not determine who you are, being made in the divine likeness does. Christ is in you empowering you; grace is coming to enable you. If you think it all hinges on your power of will you set yourself up for failure. When we begin to receive grace from our Father’s helping hand in our struggles, we know we are His child in deeper and more profound ways.
Jesus, You said that You would never leave us or forsake us. May we know that means more than You being with us; it means that You will never abandon us to our own strength. Amen!
