There is a connection between strength and prayer. The psalmist so beautifully reminds us, “On the day I called, you answered me, you increased my strength of soul” Ps 138:3 (NRSV). We need a strength that comes from beyond us. The disciples discovered this as boldness when they had prayed (Ac 4:31). Isaiah poetically said, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV). Pray! Wait before the Lord! Determine to live your life from a divinely bestowed inner strength.
