Jesus told several parables about a returning landowner who required an accounting from his stewards. We are responsible for our actions. We are to own them. Further, we will give an account of our actions, particularly, our actions that cause another to stumble. Our actions, when followed by others, can lead them astray. Judging itself can become a stumbling block. God is concerned with community and how our actions lead our sisters and brothers aright or astray; it is a key part of our stewardship.
“So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way.” Romans 14:12-13 (NASB)
