Trouble has a way of stalking us and intruding into our lives at inopportune times.  It can vary from a nuisance to the point of being overwhelming.  If we can keep it settled in the center of our souls that God has deeply committed Himself to us in love, it will give us a compass to see our way through our sorrows.  We must not listen to our emotions in our down times.  They are so unreliable.  But we can rely on the One who will not fail us.

“Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled.  My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O LORD—how long? Turn, O LORD, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. Psalm 6:2-4 (ESV).
