Your body is the temple of God. It is made so by the Spirit who has come to indwell you for that purpose (1 Corinthians 3:16). This is the spiritual dwelling in the physical. It is living lives in our physical body that are cognizant of the Spirit dwelling in us. It is why we are not free to use our bodies for evil and immoral purposes. We no longer own ourselves; the Spirit who indwells us is our new Owner and Master. We are no longer focused on obeying sin; we are now focused on making our temple a place of holy worship, a place where God is truly celebrated.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (ESV)
