Calling emotionalism the work of the Spirit is a detour from real Presence.  There is a passion in worship that is right and there is a sensuality in worship that is about us and not about Him.  We do not work up what has already come down.  We do not generate the Power; we are acted on by the Power.  We cannot manipulate the Spirit, even by our best praise and worship.  We are to “worship in spirit and in truth.”  We need rich theological truth to keep our spirit on the right path.  We need the moving of the Spirit, or our theology becomes empty.  The Spirit anoints truth.

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.   God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”  John 4:23-24 (NIV)
