The Spirit of Christ has come to free us from sin with its sentence of death. The One who said to a woman brought to Him for judgment, “Neither do I condemn you,” has lifted that dreaded condemnation from us. Oh, what a gift of grace! Sin and death, like gravity, were pulling us down to our own ultimate destruction. But “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” has broken the downward pull of sin and death, and now by the Spirit enables us to fly heavenward.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.” Romans 8:1-2 (NRSV)
