What we do with our body affects our spirit. To neglect the body is to neglect the spirit. Sins of the spirit also hurt our bodies. We poison our bodies by our attitudes. We are an undivided whole. In Christianity we are not a mere spirit that floats off somewhere else when we die; we will eventually be reunited with resurrected bodies in a healed wholeness to inhabit the new creation. Our Father will redeem us, spirit, soul and body!
Father, may we care for bodies, since they are your temple, and Your Spirit lives in us. Cleanse our spirits from all that is not like Your Spirit. May we let Your Spirit live out of our bodies in incarnational ways, even as our Lord did. Amen!
