Any violation of the Ten Commandments is at heart a failure to love. The first four are about loving God and the last six are about loving our neighbor. If I hate my neighbor, which Jesus called murder, then I poison my own soul. To fail to love will make you sick mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The health of our whole being is tuned to love God and each other. The commands of God are given to us for our good; we go against them to our own peril.
Spirit, search my inner being for all traces of hate, resentment, bitterness, malice, and suchlike. Holy Spirit of God, saturate our souls with Yourself, and since You are love, we will be saturated with love.
