The Messiah came as a descendant of King David and His kingdom will not come to an end (Isa 9:7). He would come as the Shoot from the stem of Jesse (Isa 11:1). He would be born in David’s town of Bethlehem (Lu 2:4). This Son of David is the Lord of David. He was before David. One day David, with all creation, will bow before Him. This Son of David brings the Kingdom of God to all who will come under His rule. ”Have mercy on us, Son of David!” (Matt 9:27).
“He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” Luke 1:32-33 (KJV)
