Christ is the Elect Son and we are chosen in Him. In Him we are blessed in the heavenly realms. In Him we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. In the Son we are adopted as sons and daughters of God. In Him we are elect. In Him we have all spiritual blessings. In Him we are chosen for holiness. Living in solidarity with the Son makes “our calling and election sure” (2 Peter 1:10).
“He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will–to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Ephesians 1:4-6 (NIV)
