There is no growth in and toward holiness without being sincere. Authenticity is the outcome of sincerity. I can only press forward in the journey as I am honest with myself about myself. That is not easy. For me, it requires an ongoing confession and desire to turn from the things in myself that are unlike Him. I have found that, though I sincerely want to be like Him, I cannot arrive there without the grace and help of His Spirit. The Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, thus the Spirit alone can enable true Christlikeness.
Jesus, by Your Spirit, grant that I may pursue You in sincerity and truth. Expose any false way in me that I may worship You in truth. Amen!
