There is pleasure is sin “for a season”. Forbidden fruit is sweet. Our culture says, “If it feels good do it.” “There are no rules.” “Don’t deny yourself. You deserve it.” Someone said, “Sin will take you further than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and make you pay more than you want to pay.” You will never even hear the silent click of the chains. Sin’s sweetness turns to bitterness. Turn from it. Turn in faith toward the Lord.
“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.” Hebrews 11:24-26 (KJV)
