“Sin is what disintegrates the personality and corrupts the goodness in which and for which we were made” -E. Stanley Jones. Sin is the unnatural thing that has invaded God’s good order in creation. It is expressed in human evil. Sin disintegrates the person and the institutions it touches. Since sin at its core is a failure to love God and neighbor, then the cure for this disintegration is to be filled with love. Love is what reintegrates life to health and wholeness. The Holy Spirit is given to shed this love abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5) so that we can be healed and be healing agents in a fallen creation.
