Paul said, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1 ESV). We need to practice the things that pertain to our freedom. Freedom must be maintained by life practices. To yield to sin is an invitation to be placed under satanic power. Years ago I heard a student preacher say something very powerful. He said, “You play with sin and then one day you wake up to realize that sin is playing with you”. Sin is addicting. This is why Jesus said, “He who commits sin is the slave of sin” (John 8:34-36). He is not stating some kind of new law. He is bearing truthful testimony to the nature of life.
