“When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you” Matthew 6:6 (NLT). Shutting the door is about shutting distracting things out as preparation for talking to our Father. We have all tried leaving the door open and things come in. It takes discipline and focus to close the door. But when we realize that the whole point of closing the door is to be with our beloved Father, then it becomes a necessity.
