Forgiveness enables us to move forward, to not get stuck in the past. How many times can this happen? “Then Peter came and said to Him, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven’” (Matt 18:21-22 NASB). We get stuck seventy times seven if we do not forgive seventy times seven. Why be so generous by repeatedly forgiving? Look at all of the times you have needed forgiveness from your Father, and you will know.
