“I did not come to be served but to serve” (Mt 20:28). He served with a towel and basin. He served by healing the sick and casting out demons. He served by teaching the Scriptures. He served by feeding the hungry and lifting up the poor. He served by the broken bread and the shared cup. His kingdom is a kingdom of servants, citizens who give themselves away for others. They do not come to sit at the top being served, but they delight in going to the bottom in order to serve others.
“For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.” Luke 22:27 (NASB)
