Our self-talk makes or breaks us. We have been told too many times that we are only a worthless worm by theological statements meant to magnify the grace of God. Satan, the Accuser, has found a way for us to turn this whole twisted idea around and beat ourselves up with it. We are valuable because God Himself placed value on us. He made us in His likeness. He searches for one lost sheep. He embraces returning prodigals. He came on a daring mission of rescue. He loves us so much that Love must be His Name. We do not determine our own worth, but God does. Don’t tell yourself otherwise. It’s the Accuser’s speech.
“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?” (Luke 15:4 NASB)
