The dark times of our lives tend to frighten us, because we cannot see what lies around us nor before us. The darkness and the light are the same to our Lord (Ps 139:12). We assume because it is dark that the Light of the World is somewhere else. It is not so. On Holy Saturday the Light of the World entered darkness Darkness cannot hide Him, nor put out His Light. We learn to see Him in the dark in ways that we can never see Him in the light.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light around me become night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you.” Psalm 139:11-12 (NRSV)
