“You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). This is declared to be salvation FROM our sins. Jesus taught us that sin is at its core a failure to love. His salvation then involves saving us FROM our failure to love. This is what salvation looks like. Loving is evidence of it. We are saved to love. We have made salvation to mean being saved from future damnation. Biblically, it is way more than that. It is to be made free from our unloving and self-centered ways. Are you saved? Does your life testify to it? Do they know that you are His disciple by your love? Do people in your social networks see it?
