Peter challenged Jesus’ prophecy about His impending death. He says to Peter, “Get behind me, satan” (Mark 8:33). Satan does not like the cross or self-denial. The way of saving yourself is satan’s way. It is satanic to center your life on yourself. This is how Lucifer fell in the beginning. You don’t have to be possessed by demons if you are possessed with self-centeredness; Satan already has you. Beware of the self-serving, self-pampering, self-seeking voices that come to you. Know their source; turn away.
