The Holy Spirit is more than a guide in our lives. Why is God’s Spirit called the Holy Spirit? First, He shares the nature of God Who is Holy, second, to distinguish Him from evil spirits, third, it is His office to make us holy. He is the sanctifying Spirit. He is the nature of God who is holy-love. He is sent to expel from our spirits everything that is unlike holiness and love. Call on Him to sanctify, not just your inner being, but your outer actions. May all that is in you be made holy and set apart. “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NASB). This is to be our deepest heart’s cry.
“I bring you the Good News so that I might present you as an acceptable offering to God, made holy by the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:16 (NLT)
