Your suffering is sanctified by His suffering.  Your tears become mingled with His tears.  He became one with us in our suffering and death via the incarnation; we become one with His suffering and death in Christian baptism.  That means you are now committed to the One who has always been committed to you.  You are in it together with Him.  Your pain is a shared pain since you are now one with Him.  If we can grasp His solidarity with us and our solidarity with Him we can get through anything.  Thinking about this, embracing this, will get you through your toughest times.

Father, we stand in awe of You as Creator, who entered human history to suffer and die.  Since you became one with us, becoming one with you is our ultimate worship.  “Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.”  Amen!
