They live their lives running away from brokenness. They run to promising cups that turn out to be tasteless and empty. They run to what they do not know, away from what they could have known. They build their lives and dreams into a fantasy land away from pain, only to find a greater pain than what they forsook. If they could only stop running, Brokenness would come to them as their Heavenly Shepherd, and they could experience rescue and mission.
Father, we know we are broken. Teach us how to live our lives in brokenness the way our Lord did. Teach us that embracing our brokenness is Your way to health and wholeness. May this way of humility, dependence and weakness be a path to true servanthood.
