Advent Glimpses of our Future
“No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him” (Revelation 22:3 ESV). Sin brought a curse upon mankind and the earth (Genesis 3:17–19). Everything that was cursed will be reversed in God’s new creation. As far as sin abounded the grace of new creation will abound all the more. The reigning Abba and the Lamb will not allow the curse with its consequences to be a part of our new future. He reversed the curse by becoming a curse; He did it for the sake of His great love for us.
“But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— (Galatians 3:12–13 ESV).
