Ezekiel saw a valley full of dry bones that represented a dead, defeated and exiled nation.  It was a hopeless situation.  Only the Creator God could bring them back to life.  When the people of God are down and out in the dry bones of exile, there is yet hope.  Just because we are in “death valley” does not mean that the Father cannot bring about our resurrection.  Jesus’ resurrection is the promise of our present and final triumph over death.

He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”  Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’  “Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.” Ezekiel 37:3-5 (NASB)
