Think of prayer as not finding God, but of learning to rest in God. In this place we can pray without a multitude of words. From this place we can listen to what is on God’s mind and heart as we share our mind and heart. Listening is the other half of the conversation, which we sometimes rudely forget. Leaning on God is called trust; resting in God is called faith. This resting in faith is what keeps our vessel aright in the storm and brings us to our haven of rest.
“Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him.” Psalm 37:7a
