We can choose to make our times of consternation seasons of consecration. Our circumstances don’t define us. Our choices do. In Christ we are not victims but victors. We have nothing to whine about. We can even rejoice in the midst of suffering. Surrender to the refiner’s fire, and it can make our worst day our best day. Fire changes ugly ore into shining silver or gold, able to reflect the righteous image of the Refiner.
“He is like a refiner’s fire and like fuller soap. And He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness.” (Malachi 3:2-3)
