It is not easy to feel all alone. We have all experienced it at one time or another. You may be living it now. Give a full hearing to the promise: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6, Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 13:5). Jesus put new substance into that OT promise when He said, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” John 14:18 (ESV). He was speaking of the coming Spirit, the Spirit of Christ Himself. We need to rediscover the Presence with us by focus and conversation with the Presence. He is not an imaginary companion; He is more real than any reality in the universe. He is very near.
