Redemption involves the redemption of our stories. When we try to live our lives, doing it our way, our stories become self-destructive. We were meant to live our story inside of God’s story; it is the story of His people who live in loving trust of their Heavenly Father. God’s love calls us back to the story when we go astray. Mercy embraces us; grace helps us, all bringing us to return to God’s story. God wants to redeem our story. Through the wonders of His unfolding desire for us and His helping hand, we end up with a God-story, greater than anything we could have imagined. To God be the glory.
Lord Jesus, Your genealogy includes lots of folks who messed up in one way or another, but the strings of their lives were all woven into a story that was greater than they ever could have dreamed. Thank You for redeeming my story. I yield to You, Oh Master Weaver. Amen.
