Storms can rearrange the landscape of your life. You can be hit by a death, a divorce, a job loss, a rebellious child, a hateful act, a malicious person, a house fire, and even a literal storm. They leave you with necessary cleanup. You have to put your life back together in their aftermath. There are things that have to be rebuilt. There are things that must be replanted, trusts to be reestablished, and hopes to be renewed. It means that things do not continue as they have in the past. By the grace of God you can find a new normal. The good news is, you do not have to do it alone. The One who did not abandon you in the storm knows all about putting things back together.
“They’ll rebuild the old ruins, raise a new city out of the wreckage. They’ll start over on the ruined cities, take the rubble left behind and make it new.” Isaiah 61:4 (MSG)
