God gave humans the power of thinking and reason to tell the difference between truth and falsehood, between sanity and insanity. Normally, we have a truth bell that resonates with the sound of truth. When we are asked to cast “human reason” aside to believe something about God that is contrary to the revelation we have of Him in Christ, it should ring the nonsense bell. We cannot cast reason aside for someone’s carefully crafted theological system. If that system does not conform to the God revealed in Jesus Christ, that system is to be rejected or modified based on the light of Christ. He is the perfect revelation of the Father.
Jesus said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father” (Jn 14:9).
