Many of us have been taught to read the Bible from our earliest days. Reading is not an end in itself, but a means to another end. We are to meditate on what we read. We are to let it change both our thinking and behavior. It is to mold our character in holy ways. The Bible points to the Person of Jesus and to the kind of persons we can be in Him. It is a light to the path that keeps us from stumbling. It is the hidden treasure of the heart that keeps us from habitual sin.
