Jesus’ words at Nazareth were unwelcome, so that made Him unwelcome (Lu 4:16-30).  Prophetic messages in Biblical times were largely about now and little about the future.  Prophetic words were not always about soothing comfort.  It was Spirit anointed preaching that confronted pride, prejudice and presumptive sins.  There was no repentance at Nazareth, so kingdom manifestations went somewhere else.  Lord, make us open to your Word, even if it discomforts and disturbs us.

“When they heard these things, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath.  And they rose up and drove him out of the town and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff.  But passing through their midst, he went away.”  Luke 4:28-30 (ESV)
