There are some good works that may leave us with wrongful pride.  Yet, there are works, when done In Christ and the power of His Spirit, that give us great satisfaction.  It is never, “Look at what I have done,” but rather, “Look at what God has done through me.”  I can’t take credit for that, but I can feel good about that.  I can’t say, “Look at me”, but I can say, “Look at what our Great God is doing.”  We need that kind of satisfaction.  In that, we can always rejoice.

“In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.  For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God.” Rom 15:17-19a (ESV).
