We are to love everyone, including our enemies; that is what the Lord Jesus taught us. It does not come automatically; it is more often a process. Pray to love until you can love. We must pray until our prayers are prayed in love; that is, until we can love the one for whom we pray. This is a transformation that takes place by the aid of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, Who is Love. The Spirit of Love comes to live in us until God’s kind of love flows out of us. Pray in the Spirit; pray with the Spirit who is Love.
