When it comes to the forgiveness of each other, it is difficult to see ourselves as the offender that needs to be forgiven. We often think of ourselves as the offended that needs to be asked for forgiveness. We need to realize that we may be the offender more often than we think. Occasional thoughtless actions or engrained personality patterns trespass another. Be thoughtful. Be sensitive. Always be willing to say, “I am sorry! Please forgive me.”
“Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.” Matthew 5:23-24 (NASB)
