Jesus is the founder and perfecter of faith/faithfulness. After the roll call of faith in Hebrews 11, we run the faith race, “looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.” The faithfulness of Jesus is the pattern and description of what faith should be. His faith in His Father was greater than the faith of Abraham. His total trust of the Father with His life shows us how to have faith and live a life of faithfulness.
“Run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1b-2 (NRSV)
