We are pilgrims on a journey. When we get there He has already been there. When we leave there He goes with us. He is committed to us. He is the faithful Guide who has traveled the way before us. He is our Companion on the journey. He is the Way to the Father’s house. He leads us like a Shepherd, and we follow. He carries us in His arms when we cannot walk. He waits with open arms for our arrival home.
“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” Hebrews 11:8-130 (NASB)
