Beauty contests put supreme value on physical attraction.  The wealthy will value you for the amount of money you have. The entertainment industry values famous people.  Politicians and corporate bosses often value power the most.  But my friend, our value rests in the divine image in which we are made; it rests in the value the unconditional love of God has placed on us.  What is more valuable than what God loves?  Handicapped, special needs, broken, hurt, left out, run over, etc., all are favored recipients of God’s love and should be of ours. Before God there are no nobodies to be neglected for their status; all are to be loved, respected and honored.

“Are not two sparrows sold for a cent?  And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows” Matthew 10:29-31 (NASB).
