Twice, in her song “Blessed Assurance,” Fanny Crosby uses the words “Perfect Submission.” This is a submission that is full and complete. It is a submission to our Lord with nothing held back. It is to relinquish my claim to myself. It is to abdicate the throne of my heart, enthroning Him as Lord of all. It is victory through surrender. It is entire consecration. There is a stream that flows out of this that does indeed bring blessed assurance. Don’t settle for anything less than giving the Lord your all.
