“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them (i.e. evil spirits is context); because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” 1 John 4:4 (NASB). Satan can intimidate, mock and threaten, but if we avail ourselves of the inner strength of the Spirit, he cannot defeat us. He has already been defeated on the cross by the Son of God. The Spirit that was in Jesus, giving Him victory over the powers of darkness, is in us to give us that same victory in our lives. The One in us is greater than the satanic powers at work in the world around us.
