There were those who looked in and felt left out. Those inside would not give them a place at the table. They were treated like aliens and strangers. Then the accepting Jesus came along and loved them. His compassion saw them as sheep without a shepherd. He touched outcasts, lepers and those the establishment called unclean. His Jubilee kingdom forgave their sins and canceled their debts. They thronged Him, longing to touch Him. The King opened wide the doors and brought the outsiders inside to the banquet table.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you” (Matt 21:31b NASB).
