We want to run without crawling and walking.  We want blessings without suffering.  We want rising without dying.  We want to wear the name Christian without discipleship.  We want to call Him Father without His discipline.  We want gifts without the Giver.  We want imputed holiness without the radical sanctifying work of the Spirit, without which we can never be truly set apart/holy.  Know that there is a process before we get to the journey’s destination.

“The Lord disciplines those whom he loves, and chastises every child whom he accepts….he disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share his holiness.” Hebrews 12:6 & 10b (NRSV)
